Amy Perry started teaching at Savannah Arts Academy in 2005.  She quickly became the department chair for Communication Arts and the Internship Coordinator.  Amy received a degree in Business Education from Valdosta State University and recently got her masters degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University.  Along with Patrick Schwerin, Amy loves working with our Future Business Leaders of America chapter.  Amy teaches Computer Applications to ninth grade students and works with our school’s advisement program.  Amy likes to help students discover their career options and set attainable goals for the future.

Patrick Schwerin has 12 years of teaching experience with 4 years at Savannah Arts Academy.  He received a M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University, Certification in Business Education from Georgia Southern University, and a B.S. in Sports Management from Georgia Southern University.  He is one of the advisers for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization.  In the 4 years at Savannah Arts the FBLA chapter has seen 38 students qualify for Nationals, achieved Gold level status every year and placed 3rd in Chapter of the Year at the 2010 State Leadership Conference.

Marc Beringson has been with the Arts Academy for 7 years as a Communication Arts teacher.  He worked professionally as a videographer, editor, script writer and producer before coming to the Arts Academy in 2003. His professional experience and ability to bring creativity into a technical curriculum has proven to be an invaluable resource for the students and the school.  Several students have left the hallways of SAA to embark on film and TV careers thanks to the direction and guidance of Mr. Beringson.

SCAD alumnus Kinte Taylor is a faculty member at the Savannah Arts Academy who began his teaching career at Thunderbolt Elementary. Having graduated from SCAD with his Masters and Bachelors of Fine Art, he worked professionally as a post production manager, web-master, web-designer, graphic designer, videographer, editor and production artist. Kinte is a keen photographer and digital artist, using these skills to teach courses in Graphic design and photography. He is also an active freelance multimedia artist and consultant.
